About Me

My name is Amanda Gislason, and baking has always been a part of who I am. I grew up cooking and baking in the kitchen alongside my family, and later in college I discovered a love for building and decorating cakes. For 20 years I shared my passion for creativity as an art teacher, but I eventually realized that baking was what truly made my heart happiest.

In 2009, my husband and I welcomed our son, Gunnar to the world. Born with Down syndrome, he has shaped us into the people we are today. Now a junior in high school, Gunnar plans to work with me after graduation—he may be the official hugger, we will need to come up with a good title for him! He has an incredible gift for sensing emotions, and his hugs always seem to arrive at just the right moment. So if you meet us in person, don’t be surprised if you leave with a smile and a hug!

Gunnar and I are both gluten intolerant, and that has inspired my mission: to create desserts that are both irresistibly delicious and free of gluten. Whether you live gluten-free or simply love great treats, I believe you’ll enjoy our desserts and keep coming back for more!
